Price-List Reconciliation Desk for Independent Funeral Homes

Your price lists, proofed against what you actually charge.

Your General Price List, Casket Price List, and Outer Burial Container Price List need to agree — with each other, with the statements your families sign, and with your website prices. A price change, a new casket, or a card surcharge can quietly put them out of step. ListProof keeps them reconciled, month after month, and flags gaps before an inspector or a family finds them.

For independently owned Texas funeral homes · Document reconciliation only — not legal advice; your licensed funeral director approves every document

A funeral home office desk with three price lists laid out side by side for review

Price lists don’t go stale all at once. They drift.

A funeral home’s prices live in at least four places: the three Funeral Rule price lists, the statements families sign, the arrangement software, and the website. Change one, and the others can quietly stop matching. A surcharge appears at the card terminal but never makes it onto the lists. A casket changes in the selection room but stays on the Casket Price List. A package description no longer itemizes the way the Rule requires.

The Federal Trade Commission checks. In the FTC’s undercover inspections, 17 of 90 funeral homes visited since 2018 failed to meet the Funeral Rule’s disclosure requirements, and in a November 2024 phone sweep, FTC staff sent warning letters to 39 providers. Civil penalties can reach $43,280 per violation (FTC).

Most drift isn’t carelessness. It’s a busy firm whose lists nobody owns. ListProof owns that upkeep.

A desk that keeps four versions of your prices telling the same story.

  1. Send your lists. Your current GPL, Casket Price List, and Outer Burial Container Price List, plus your website pricing page if you post prices.

  2. We check them against the FTC’s own guidance. We check that required disclosures are present, cash-advance items are disclosed, package descriptions are itemized, and all three lists are consistent with each other.

  3. We keep them reconciled. Each month, we spot-check a redacted sample of your case statements against the lists, turn every price or merchandise change into updated lists within 5 business days, and re-check all three lists in full every quarter.

  4. Your director approves everything. Nothing is final until your licensed funeral director signs off. You also get a one-page monthly note: what changed, what’s flagged, and what’s next.

Start with the Price-List Check. It’s free.

Send the three price lists you hand families today, plus your website pricing page if you have one. Within 3 business days, you get a one-page report naming each gap we find — missing disclosures, lists that disagree, package descriptions that don’t itemize — and what we would do about it.

Four quick questions come with the request so the report speaks to your firm. No case statements are needed at this stage — only documents you already hand to any family that asks.

Flat monthly. Priced on the page.

Price-List Rebuild Sprint

$950 one-time

All three lists rebuilt into clean, current, internally consistent documents — print-ready and web-ready — and reconciled against what your firm actually charges today, including card surcharges and cash-advance items. Your licensed funeral director approves the result before it is final. You receive a $475 credit toward your first Desk month if your Desk starts within 14 days of Sprint delivery.

Price-List Rebuild Sprint

Desk 1

$349/mo

One location. A monthly spot-check of a redacted sample of case statements against your lists, price and merchandise changes turned into updated lists within 5 business days, a full three-list re-check every quarter, and a one-page monthly note.

Desk 1

Desk 2

$649/mo

Up to three locations. Everything in Desk 1, plus maintenance of your posted prices — website PDFs and pages — and updates within 3 business days in high-change months.

Desk 2

Additional locations $149/mo each. Month-to-month — pause or cancel anytime. Founding cohort: 4 firms, so the reconciliation stays careful.

A promise about our turnaround — not your inspections.

If we miss our committed turnaround on more than 5% of a month’s updates, you automatically receive a 25% credit for that month.

We will never promise that your firm is compliant or that an inspection will go a certain way. Your licensed funeral director approves every document we produce. Our promise: lists reconciled on schedule, every change turned on time, and every gap we find included in your monthly note.

Careful document work for a sensitive, regulated business.

  • Document work only. We flag gaps against the FTC’s published Funeral Rule guidance. We do not give legal advice or compliance conclusions.
  • Your licensed funeral director approves every document. Nothing goes to a family or a website without that sign-off.
  • Statement spot-checks use redacted samples. Your firm removes family names and identifiers before anything reaches us. A written confidentiality agreement comes before the first sample, and samples are deleted after review.
  • Texas firms only, for now: one regulator’s rules, learned properly — the FTC Funeral Rule and the Texas Funeral Service Commission.
  • If your firm is under an FTC or state action, we’ll tell you to call your attorney instead. That is the honest answer.

Are you funeral directors or lawyers?

Neither. ListProof is a document reconciliation desk. We check your price lists against the FTC’s published guidance and your own charges, then produce clean, consistent documents. Your licensed funeral director approves everything. Legal questions go to your firm’s counsel.

What do you need from us to start?

For the free Check, only your three current price lists and your website pricing page if you post prices — documents you hand to any family that asks. Case statements come later, only if you start a Sprint or a Desk, and always redacted.

We use Passare / CRäKN / another case system. Does this still fit?

Yes. Software generates lists from what is entered into it. It cannot tell you when those prices no longer match what families are actually charged. We reconcile the documents against your real charges, and the updated lists drop into whatever system you already use.

The NFDA already reviewed our GPL once. Isn’t that enough?

A one-time review checks one list at one moment. Prices, merchandise, and surcharges change throughout the year. Reconciliation keeps the lists aligned in November, not just in the month they were reviewed.

How do you handle our families’ information?

Your firm removes names and identifiers before sending statement samples. A written confidentiality agreement is in place before the first sample, and samples are deleted after review. Price reconciliation never needs a family’s personal information.

We’re a small firm. Is this sized for us?

The Desk was built for independently owned firms. The founding cohort is capped at 4 firms, with single-location firms in mind. If you serve roughly 75 to 400 families a year, the Desk is priced for a small office, not a corporate one.

What happens if our prices change mid-month?

Tell us once, by email. Updated lists come back within 5 business days on Desk 1, or 3 business days in high-change months on Desk 2. That turnaround is what the guarantee covers.

Keep your next price change from leaving a list behind.
